From a Kitchen Table to Kenya's Agri Hub
ASAAN Africa was founded in 2020 by a group of agribusiness professionals who saw a critical gap: Kenya's farmers and traders were disconnected from markets, information, and each other. SMS price alerts and Excel spreadsheets couldn't bridge the divide.
Starting with 47 founding members from Nairobi, Mombasa, and Kisumu, we built a digital platform that combines a marketplace, community forum, and business intelligence tools — designed specifically for African agribusiness realities.
Today, ASAAN Africa serves over 2,400 members across 12 countries, facilitating trade, knowledge exchange, and investment connections that power Kenya's food economy.
Founded
ASAAN Africa launched with 47 founding members and a shared vision for connected agribusiness.
Digital Marketplace
Launched the B2B marketplace — first month saw KSh 2M in trade volume between members.
County Expansion
Expanded to all 47 counties with county-level market intelligence and local events.
2,000 Members
Hit 2,000 members and launched the Enterprise membership tier for large agribusinesses.
Pan-African Vision
Extended network to Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Rwanda. AI features launched.
